I use most apps on my phone as web sites. I think apps are nice when your app uses gestures that would otherwise overlap with webbed site, or when you're doing anything computationally intensive that would otherwise be done in JavaScript (or even WASM).

Another good reason is if you do not know how to make web sites but you do know how to make apps. One of the very best reasons is when your app is a web browser.

I also get the vibe that cert pinning is easier to do in apps than websites (I make websites and not apps, but even then I know how to cert pin in an Android app when I wouldn't be able to tell you how to set up HSTS, which I don't think even does cert pinning).

But I suspect that apps are better for leveraging analytical capabilities to synergize our product development teams with our long-term business strategies while delivering shareholder value and, most importantly, delighting our customers while delivering relevant deals and offers.

haha, what the fuck. this is hilarious

i think apple does bin some, you usually get a few numbers of cores to choose from, but i believe that's only two tiers per processor.

i know it's still impressive to design your own silicon, but the magic is just monopoly? the "apple sucks forever" nerd in me stays winning

i'm not even doing THAT bad but i do feel like i woke up one day, and they removed the guardrails on the stairs that go up to my apartment on the seventh floor.

hey, the LD50 for flights of stairs is 5. and, hey, does this spiral go to the basement? did we always have that?

Wait really? I'd love to read more. My scant interest understanding of silicon manufacturing makes this not make sense to me, but my understanding starts and ends at "TSMC makes the chips from the silicon wafers on commission."

Apple just winning a business gambit is a lot easier to place in my understanding of reality than "magic is real and Apple invented it"

oh yeah, this is definitely something where corporate interests might align with public interest in terms of mitigating the worst of it.

i'm anticipating apple won't be the first to raise prices if these tariffs come in. otherwise, my strategy is to wait until the generation where they ruin the form factor, so i can get the M6 Max or whatever the number will be, at a discount

My tap water is so chalky that it leaves my hair really greasy. I have to tell my guests not to worry about the silty white layer on top of the rinsed grapes, and I have to tell them not to worry about the brown-red residue in my shower and toilet. (Cleaning them weekly is not enough.) I have to filter and boil most of the water I drink to get rid of the taste and smell of sulfide, and the EWG tap water database tells me that many of the contaminants in my municipalitys water are close to the legal limit.

Not sure if that's the water I drink, since I have well water. I'm regularly cleaning and replacing our aerators, because they get filled with sand.

I get Primo 5 gallon water jugs refilled with water from a municipality that has better water. It tastes better, it doesn't leave silt on grapes, and there's never any sand in my drinking water.

Maybe the water bottling plant is located there because it has nicer tap water? I'm not trying to be contrarian, but tap water actually can be bad.
