My tap water is so chalky that it leaves my hair really greasy. I have to tell my guests not to worry about the silty white layer on top of the rinsed grapes, and I have to tell them not to worry about the brown-red residue in my shower and toilet. (Cleaning them weekly is not enough.) I have to filter and boil most of the water I drink to get rid of the taste and smell of sulfide, and the EWG tap water database tells me that many of the contaminants in my municipalitys water are close to the legal limit.

Not sure if that's the water I drink, since I have well water. I'm regularly cleaning and replacing our aerators, because they get filled with sand.

I get Primo 5 gallon water jugs refilled with water from a municipality that has better water. It tastes better, it doesn't leave silt on grapes, and there's never any sand in my drinking water.

Maybe the water bottling plant is located there because it has nicer tap water? I'm not trying to be contrarian, but tap water actually can be bad.

i want to emphasize i'm joking about the elitism, and i've relied on gui tools. and the command line suffers from so much suck. and i don't do anything with all the time i save

but i spent a lot of time wondering "how do people program with gui tools" and i think i assumed they were using integrated terminals for the most part

I want to emphasize what I mean here:

If DIY HRT becomes associated with the same level of illegality as child sex abuse material, then you don't want to be buying that with your credit card. You want to be buying your HRT with the same money that people use to buy CSAM.

(I'm also increasingly worried about how credit card header data can be used, but that's a separate thing)

two of my trans friends killed themselves during the trump presidency and MAGA is successfully and increasingly associating trans identity with pedophilia. pick your favorite transphobic slur, your favorite far-right forum, and your favorite search engine, to see what the winners were and are saying about us

most americans believe in christianity and we're living like the world isn't burning. people actually believe in christianity! that's wildly delusional! not transitioning is, like, third or fourth on the list of ways i'm living inauthentically

i will feel meaningfully safer and more secure in a life under trump if i don't continue my transition
