I don’t even turn it on every day, so I clearly can’t shut it down every night lol. And I usually suspend to disk, with the occasional reboot for general system health.
On the other hand, my phone pretty much never gets shut down unless I’m doing a reboot.
Maybe there's a reasonable explanation, but maybe the road to hell is lined with "benefit of the doubt".
Exactly. And the thing is, some fraction of the uncounted ballots probably are for completely unrelated reasons, and they rely on this for plausible deniability. But taken as a whole, I believe most of these cases are cases of deliberate lack of care, i.e., voter suppression.
The real question now is: so what? What are we going to do about it?
Edit: just to be clear, I don’t have an answer - this is just what I’ve been asking myself the last month
This is where lucid dreaming would be nice. I mean, who wouldn’t want a situation where you could burn down your place of employment without consequences?
I always thought it was a torus, like a doughnut. If you hold it one way it’s hollow (the doughnut hole), stand it up like a wheel and it’s round, lay it down on your plate and it’s flat. It’s the only shape that fits all three delusions.
I’m absolutely convinced it’s because someone knew there would be no consequences for burying it. Voter suppression is far more likely to get hand wringing than a serious response, so active grassroots voter suppression has become popular.
It’s turns out the old saying “if voting could bring change it would be illegal” was wrong. Instead, it’s “if voting could bring change we will rig the results.”
Well that’s a nice surprise; I’m plural as well. In fact part of why I’m here is to practice fronting in a space the others don’t consider “theirs” - otherwise they try to butt in and take over the conversation.
It’s probably a regional thing, but storm windows (sometimes called a storm sash) are basically lightweight secondary windows installed on the outside of single pane windows. This provides protection for your primary window from hail and storm debris, as well as just generally providing better insulation by turning the whole
combination assembly into a sort of a primitive 2 pane window.
Storm windows are normally left open/swapped out for screens during the warm and moderate seasons, and closed for winter (and sometimes the stormy part of spring). During the worst of winter they can make a huge difference in how cold and drafty a room feels, as well as save on overall heating bills.
I would love to try vegan sushi someday, but I sincerely doubt there is any place near me to get some. Maybe il try on my next trip to a real city. Any suggestions on finding some other than a google for “vegan sushi near me” ?
Thank you! I’ve had this touched on before but never with quite such a vivid description, and it has changed how I mentally image the whole event. Now I’m picturing these new bacteria doing their thing, pumping out their toxic wastes without a care in the world as all the earth’s buffers just kept eating it up. Then, just like a beaker high school science experiment suddenly changing color in the blink of an eye, the buffers fill up and BAM! the entire atmosphere becomes toxic, and life itself becomes fire.
