They turned the villager from Animal Crossing into a character anything is possible.

If they were gonna put an indie game character into it they would probably go with Shovel Knight and he's an assist trophy. Also I don't think Sans would be good in smash even as Undertale characters go because his moveset would have to be from a secret boss battle most people didn't play.

This rules

Deviding culture into eras is never going to be clean but I think that decades make more sense if you push everything back a few years, like make the 90s go from 1994 to 2004. Like 2002 has way more in common with 1996 than 2008, I feel. Maybe I'm wrong lol

ehh lots of shooters are/try to be funny.

There's senerio overlap with the whole edge of the galaxy, mega corp thing and the guns but that's about it. It's a dialog heavy RPG with a focus on doing things your own way vs daibo with guns, and the art is it's own thing. There's a whole lineage of immersive sims it's playing with that seems so removed to me lol

I mean that's because they put a lot of effort in, youtube does a lot to thwart ad blockers. At the network level there's some limitations which mean they can't tell difference between an ad from youtube and an actual video.
