I work for a school and getting classes leveled out without having classes of 3 people or 50 people is a real challenge. I'm sorry that you got squashed by that process.

The reason why I got such a heavy load is not even my fault, it's the university's fault because they decided all of a sudden to move our two electives (3 units each) from 4th year to 2nd year, but since we already finished 2nd year after the curriculum got revised we now have to take them in our 3rd year. And our 3rd year already have its own two electives for its 2nd semester

Well at least we will only have to take like 9 units for our 4th year... So all of that time can be spent focusing on the thesis

Yep it definitely sounds like 20 is a more appropriate class load, since you're supposed to study for the amount of class time and you're at 54 hours a week of studying or class.

It's doable but try to get a lighter load next semester!

Each class/subject is 3 units, and they can either take 1.5 hours over two days in a week or 3 hours over one day in a week. So 1 unit = 1 hour I guess
