coming back to this:

i've tried therapy a few times since this. i was convinced by (1) rick and morty's "pickle rick" episode, and then (2) "call her daddy" the podcast.

the first time, i felt very much like i was having color-by-numbers being done on me.

the second time, they almost explicitly told me, "i'm only here to prescribe conditions so people can get medical marijuana or other drugs. that's why these sessions cost $200 and aren't covered by insurance. we usually don't do second sessions"

this most recent time, i feel like i'm very much having color-by-numbers being done on me.

i don't have anxiety! i'm socially confident and i don't need to work on that! i'm not depressed! i don't want to spend 10 hours and $300 across two months building rapport! i have "crazy brain" and i'd like to work on that please!

I've been thinking about the "free the nipple" movement as I've started to develop breasts.

"Free the nipple" seemed like an obvious, discrete, small, and easily-attainable Feminism Win.

There are a few states where you can technically go topless after a federal win in the 2010s, but even then, so much of public life is on private property, both online and in person. And the stigma is still pretty huge.

You can sexualize breasts, that's fine. There are plenty of body parts that are sexy. People with great forearms are allowed to sleeveless, you can walk around with a bikini bottom that shows off your entire ass and legs. And for the foot fetishists out there, I imagine it must be really hard to visit a place like the beach.

But nipples, apparently, are still obscene. Ugh.

And now, with the Supreme Court the way it is, and with society backsliding so hard, I don't think we'll see even this. It's not like "free the nipple" is the only metric in the Feminism Barometer, but man.

You'd think, "Hey men, you'll get to see more titties if women get this one right! And hey, human rights are even more important than that! Human rights are good!" would be a winning argument. But nope.

First, this is sitting at +1 upvotes and -9 downvotes. I am one of the downvotes. I've no idea which of these post-powered president-fucking forum freaks have voted this revolting post up.

Second, Jimmy Carter is... Oh no... Ohhoho ... Ohhnno...

Jimmy Carter is 100.25 years old, and his electability has diminished but the DNC is keeping its options open

that genuinely sucks :(

my last day was the 20th but that's because I've been a full-time temp for like, a year, and it was mandatory to put me on break without pay for a month

on the bright side, no work for now + got taken on semi-permanently (grant funded research lol)
