I've been thinking about the "free the nipple" movement as I've started to develop breasts.
"Free the nipple" seemed like an obvious, discrete, small, and easily-attainable Feminism Win.
There are a few states where you can technically go topless after a federal win in the 2010s, but even then, so much of public life is on private property, both online and in person. And the stigma is still pretty huge.
You can sexualize breasts, that's fine. There are plenty of body parts that are sexy. People with great forearms are allowed to sleeveless, you can walk around with a bikini bottom that shows off your entire ass and legs. And for the foot fetishists out there, I imagine it must be really hard to visit a place like the beach.
But nipples, apparently, are still obscene. Ugh.
And now, with the Supreme Court the way it is, and with society backsliding so hard, I don't think we'll see even this. It's not like "free the nipple" is the only metric in the Feminism Barometer, but man.
You'd think, "Hey men, you'll get to see more titties if women get this one right! And hey, human rights are even more important than that! Human rights are good!" would be a winning argument. But nope.
