Well the original idea was to run something that accepts a TCP connection, and then run wireshark and see if you have a lot of retransmitted packets, which would mean the cable is probably bad and dropping packets.

You can probably still look at ping and see if there's packet drops but yeah, probably not as reliable doing it that way.

Currently only a few people I know use signal so if I had to maintain two appsz one for signal friends and one for just SMS friends it's going to be a big bummer and I probably will just end up not using signal. As is, I could get people to switch to signal as their main app and I could signal with them, but otherwise it was a normal texting app for them. But now his am I gonna get my mom to install signal and a regular SMS app? Not gonna happen, which means unencrypted messages.

It's probably not custom for this site, is my guess. Either a bot that someone made a postmill plugin for because postmill exists, or more likely, someone in a click farm somewhere manually made an account and has to make x number of posts a day. I'm just guessing.

Especially with everything being wireless now I kinda wish we would go back. I just don't want all my signals bouncing through the air when they could be going through nice clean cables. Less radio interference, more secure, less things to break or just flakily get disconnected... I am such a Luddite. I just wish we would stick with what works.
