Congrats! This was pretty much how I felt leaving one particularly dysfunctional tech job. And not just because it was PHP.

I'm so sorry :S if it's feasible, I think taking a break would be a good idea. It doesn't sound like it's a healthy place for you to be.

Reply to comment by Alessia in I really do wish there was more research on being trans by twovests
Come to think of it, I hope we don't get any research on being trans until we've figured out human rights and basic decency
Alessia wrote
I'd love to know the genetic and environmental factors that made me trans but I know as soon as they are discovered the knowledge will be used for a kind of biological conversion therapy.

Car things are pretty scary and even "minor" events are pretty traumatizing once experienced :( I hope the noodle soup was warm and helped to bring some distance between you and the collision.

i got rear ended just over a year ago and now basically every time i brake i think about the car behind me hitting me. it's messed up
at the end of the day it's just a car though. the main thing is that nobody got hurt

I try to have hope in a future where people are generally right about things and value compassion and humanity above all else. Even if the prevailing gender theory doesn't match the one we share, I think at least people of the future will think, "Wow, people were horrible."

Every once in a while, I'll imagine thousands of people from the future sending reassurance and encouragement back through time to people in the present. Things like, "It sucks to be ahead of your time, but please don't give up; our future won't be possible if you don't keep fighting the good fight. We love you and appreciate everything you do!" It's not much, but it helps a bit.

Reply to solstice. sonic. snow. a beautiful day by twovests
Hell yea solstice! We haven't gotten snow yet, but it is forecasted on Christmas Eve? I can't even remember the last time that happened, so I hope it will come to pass. And Sonic is eternal, of course.
