I think it shows your name and profile picture, but not your phone number. Importantly, it requires you add someone, or willingly join a group.

I think if they have your phone number in their contacts, Signal will add that to the Signal contact, and so someone can find your phone number by adding every phone number to their contacts. But I'm not certain about that.

Hmm…..

  • pointer finger: water - life sustaining, fire suppressing and non lethal defense
  • middle finger: liquid tungsten: primary weapon and heat source at a minimum of 3400 degrees celsius
  • ring finger: liquid gold: money, backup emergency heat source
  • pinky finger: liquid oxygen: source of intense cold, emergency breathing air
  • thumb: does oatmeal count as liquid? Anyway something to be able to feed myself/others in an emergency, even if it’s just a protein shake

In order from thumb to little finger on my right hand:

  • potable room temperature water (always have fresh clean water to drink!)
  • potable boiling water (no more waiting or using energy for kettles and so on)
  • coca cola from a room temperature can (my favourite beverage and way to drink it, on the middle finger because it's sticking a middle finger up to the coca cola corporation by getting it for free)
  • helium (gases are fluids too! help solve any helium shortages and also gain access to a cool party trick [squeaky voice on demand] ring finger because I don't see myself using this one all that often and that's the most uncomfortable one to use)
  • acrylic paint thinning medium (sounds like a good idea but I've only ever used water, would like to experiment with it but it's expensive and I could just get new colours for the money)

Thumb - vodka. I had to include some kind of alcohol if only for mixing purposes, plus I feel it's the most versatile booze.

Pointer - water (clean, cold, potable) This Queen needs no explanation.

Middle - Lighter fluid. Many uses and I find it funny to have a flaming middle finger.

Ring - most awkward finger to hold out by itself, at least for me. Would be a liquid I would need rarely. Prosecco, maybe.

Little - espresso. Once again no explanation needed. Imagine the little finger extended over a tiny espresso cup shooting out piping hot coffee. Prego!

Long ago I made a d666 table for various fluids to be found in d&d style alchemy jugs. I will roll on this table to determine what fluids I get. Please excuse me for being a fluid anarchist at time of making the table

Pinky: Heavy Cream

Ring: Olive Oil (hell yeah yhell yeah hell yeahfgh)

Middle: Carbonated water (HELL YEAHGFH)

Index: Oil Paint

Thumb: Molten Silver

(I'm sure you know this, but it looks like your IRL name is attached to that-- in case you're worried about doxxing yourself here.)

I haven't gotten deep into TTRPGs , I always thought these required some existing system (like DnD or Pathfinder). I haven't read through it all yet, but is this meant to be standalone, or does this attach to something else?

In either case, thank u for sharing :D

I wonder how I ever lived without "torment chrysalis" in my vocabulary.

just as mycoplasma survive with not cell walls nor peptidoglycan, deprivation has made you stronger. you are presumably highly resistant to antibiotics.

The big question is where is this fiction available?

I have system agnostic ttrpg stuff published in a small magazine!

Been working on a novel, though I write very slowly! but steadily — went into a dwarf fortress style fey mood over it. no idea where it'll end up, but it's a bit too grotesque for the current spec-fic zeitgeist, I figure. might try finding an agent when its finished, but i dont want money, just to subject more people to my gross art :D

Weird people are my people :)

If you had your LiveJournal pre-2012, your posts might have been the very ones which told me I wasn't alone in this

Our account was pre- 2008; we quit when the US operations were sold to SUP. And in general we weren’t talking publicly about plurality at that point so it wouldn’t have been our account anyway.

Which is too bad because that would have been awesome lol

So thank you even if I have no idea what you mean lol

Reddit in ~2010 was very much like Hacker News is today, I think?

The bad parts? Almost entirely white men with a libertarian bent, liberal beliefs, and an -- at best -- unexamined worldview on gender and race, with interests in videogames and porn. There was r/ShitRedditSays as a small but vocal counterbalance, in which jstpst shares much cultural overlap.

But Reddit also placed a lot of value in critical thought / rationality (more r/atheism, less "LessWrong"), had a highly-educated userbase, and were generally cool with people who were weird.

Which may help explain why I am generally just disgusted with modern psychiatry.

shakes your hand, as a fellow plural person disgusted with modern psychiatry.

You know what's funny? If you had your LiveJournal pre-2012, your posts might have been the very ones which told me I wasn't alone in this. I remember my headmate as an "imaginary friend" distinctly before the trauma for which she was a "coping mechanism".
