Thank you for re-affirming my belief that I could never go back to using an iPhone. God. I much prefer just having access to a normal file system and computer features for dealing with things. I have a rolling todo list but I don't use any kind of todo list app for it. It's just a text file that's synced between my phone and desktop using Syncthing that I edit using Simple File Manager that lets me pin a shortcut directly to the file on my home screen. If I want to put new music on my phone I just plug it into my PC and mount it as a file system to transfer stuff over.
Sorry this wasn't meant to turn into bragging about my phone being better. Just reading this made me feel frustrated and made me appreciate my phone more :P

for text selection IIRC if you hold down the spacebar for a moment it turns into a precise cursor navigator. Been a long time since I used an iPhone though I may be getting it mixed up with custom keyboard I used on Android once :P

That's fair. I think with this stuff the cloud things are going to be inherently more risky even if they're more convenient because you're relying on the company hosting it not fucking things up way more.
I use KeePass now which just saves passwords in an encrypted file that you unlock with a programme. It's open source so there's a bunch of different versions of the UI for it and you don't need to worry about a single company going bankrupt for it. If someone wants to steal the passwords they need both the file itself and the master password to open it. There's phone versions too so you don't need to have access to your passwords tied to your desktop. And if you do want to sync it between systems you can sync it like an ordinary file in Dropbox etc, taking into account the risks that can pose too if someone steals those accounts.

Dreamt that I was stuck on some bus in Belfast (I have never been to Belfast, I just knew in the dream it was Belfast) and we were on it for hours and some guy was eating pizza and I asked him about it and he gave me the number for a place that will deliver it and the people on the bus said to just ask for it to be delivered to "the number six" and they'll know which bus stop to bring it to but the guy on the phone had no idea what I was talking about or where to bring the pizza and the phone line kept breaking and I had to hold down a button continuously to be able to hear them like some weird reverse walkie-talkie.

The correct during send thing seems absurd. Is that just because it's the last word in the text? If you hit space before sending would it do the autocorrect first and then let you fix it before hitting send?
