This is some good direction!! I appreciate it. Motivation and taking up the slack on my end (mostly through automation). We're using Jira for our projects too, so it's about time I learn how to use and set up Git hooks :^)
Yeahhh, tbh people who argue that PC gaming is cheaper... They're hella wrong?? I'd never be able to justify this just for gaming -- this is also going to be a pretty nice workstation for machine learning, 3D modelling, etc. I can;t imagine it filling the same area as hangin out on the couch with friends playing Nintendo
Update for you: I got two keyboards (Razer green switches and Cherry MX browns) PLUS a 1080p60hz IPS monitor for $15!!! I have to clean out gamer scum from the keyboards but very very good deal for me.
I'll probably pick up a better monitor Eventually, it's one of those things I'm def willing to wait for a deal on. Tbh I'm pretty happy to have a tenkey, I can get back into Blender now 8)
I remember in like... 2010 my internet friends were building gaming PCs and I was like "hey it'd be cool if there was an extra 'brightness' channel per pixel or something like that" and they were like "that's stupid and impossible"
YEAH
WHO'S STUPID AND IMPOSSIBLE NOW, 2010 HIGHSCHOOL KIDS???
Oh I'm confused -- I always understood HDR to be some post processing to bring a wide range of light values to the 0-255 scale we all know. But from what I read now, HDR monitors just have great contrast ratios and 30 bit color?
Anyways, I still feel iffy about TN. I love the viewing angles I'm familiar with for IPS.
I'm doing ML so I'm justifying the beefy GPU that way ;) Buuuut I've gotten this critique twice, so i think i ought just to get a better monitor. Plus I'll be typing on that a lot
