didnt think about the context--I'm not from the old site so I'm not sure what the attitude towards SU was amongst the majority of people here before

everyone I interact with did; I keep seeing people bash things about it, right down to Rebecca Sugar's art style. it started with Gem Harvest, which I think many took to be at best an expression of neutrality towards racist/xenophobic family and at worst an endorsement of letting Trump supporters say and do stupid shit at Thanksgiving in the name of being civil. By now it's just digressed into criticism of superficial aspects of the show (e.g being too off-model or too on-model) under the guise of righteous anger. Maybe they're right and it's kept being "problematic" in that wishy-washy not-radical-enough way. I don't really know what to think as I had stopped keeping up with the show itself before GemHarvestGate.
