I LOVE THIS

one thing I LOVE about early home microcomputers is how ingenious storing data as an analogue stream was, like I'm aware of cassette tapes, flexi disc records coming free with magazines, and radio broadcasts as ways of distributing data. I'll admit, DOS on a record is a new one.
Also what's cool is because it just cares about the audio and not where it's coming from, you can easily load programs onto your old computers with an MP3 played off a smartphone, which is so fucking cool.

if we're being practical, legs! I get fatigued super easily and find walking more than a short distance to be a) hard and b) tiring, so some robo legs would be rad! I'm mad as hell that electric scooters are illegal here because I think it would honestly be the perfect mode of transportation for short trips to the shops for me.
if we're being aesthetic, I'd replace my left arm with a cool metal arm with a cool design.

back in the brexit referendum I did vote for the third option to dissolve the UK in acid and me with it, but nothing seems to have come from that :(

it was a wonderful cinematic experience that's for sure!!
also the fact that there exists multiple dos-era PC cards that work as sort of console-replacement dealies is so wild to me

yknow, as an art exhibit this is fucking cool as hell, but as a consumer product it's silly.

not that I would get into this situation for multiple reasons but if I did somehow manage it I would simply accept my new life rather than take the angle grinder approach.

"smart" lock designers don't consider that they are designing locks, they design consumer tech products that happen to lock. this is evidenced by the fact that many smart padlocks can be disassembled while locked.

I love cases where they legally determine how to classify stuff because it's one of those things where they have to create some sort of specific line that bears little resemblance to the way we actually classify things!

I saw a gif of this on twitter with less explanation a while ago and I felt suddenly enlightened. This is cool. It's so neat how geometry feels like a specific thing contained in its own bubble of "maths about shapes and that's it" but actually it's just another way of writing equations and relationships that can be really useful in things that aren't to do with actual physical shapes in the real world.

not great honestly, my mental health has taken a huge hit for obvious reasons, I couldn't find a job and don't exactly want one at the moment because going into a school is a bad idea at the moment. also two of my closest friends had an argument today and I was there and it made me sad and anxious because I'm super conflict averse and they both kinda vented to me about it a bit after and idk what to say.
on the plus side I 3d printed a neat dice tower
