The poker boom was a period between 2003 and 2006, so I am pretty sure it was late high-school / early college.

I learned from the Luigi Poker minigame in New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS. Thank you Nintendo for instilling the value of gambling to me at an impressionable young age 🫡🫡
