if they "liked" your profile then u already know they are interested. that's the one good thing about OkC and sites like it, it gets the awkward self-doubt of "am i giving this person unwanted attention" out of the way.
they already wanna talk to you. just say something nice and ask them a couple questions about themselves! you can do it!

Reply to Is it immoral to keep a pet? by flabberghaster
i found my dog starving on the street. occasionally i worry that im keeping him prisoner but he also doesnt have enough sense not to run into traffic. so in the sense that an alive dog is better than a not alive dog i think its a good thing overall.

yeah its hard for me to give a shit about this sort of thing, because those blogs were just posting the same stuff you could find from real people a thousand other places. but it bothered me that i got the email and couldn't find what posts in question triggered it.
i didnt think about checking likes though, ill hack some more and see if there's anything in there. i hand out likes on that site like throwing confetti, same way i do on every site, so its entirely possible.
EDIT: i hit the rate limit so i will have to finish checking tomorrow but there was no matches in the first 49850 of my liked posts

in the email they said they deleted the original posts but not the reblog chains, but it wouldn't be the first time they fucked up something like that, if thats the case

i looooove emacs. the main reason i don't write more of my own stuff in elisp is because the language shows its age in terms of multithreading and background computation.
i also really like _why's projects hackety hack and potion.

huh that's interesting. i have used hg in the past and thought it was very easy to understand compared to git but moved to git because mercurial was too slow. i guess its speed has improved over the years, i'll have to give it another shot!

i used to use this quite a bit! i stopped when i moved away from GNOME because it doesn't play very nicely with other desktops. then again i don't think i've tried it in many years. i should give it another whirl.

i love linters especially when they can autoformat to a particular style. elixir has one built into its build tool and i've also had good luck with rubocop in ruby and eslint for JS.
