I have Non-24 Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder, a sleeping disorder which means my internal body clock runs for more than a 24 hour day, which means every day I go to bed slightly later and wake up slightly later. This means eventually i get around to the point where im like waking up at 7pm and going to bed in the morning, its very disruptive and makes it impossible to hold down any commitments that require a consistent schedule.

On the subreddit for people with this disorder I've seen a few people talking about how taking extremely small amounts of melatonin has cured them and got them to sleeping in a regular awake-during-the-day-asleep-at-night schedule, so i thought I'd try it. Tonight I took 1/4 of a children's melatonin gummy a few hours ago, so far it's making me feel tired earlier than I usually would be so that's promising. It would be nice if this worked for me and let me live normally. fingers crossed

Update: Well it did put me to sleep, but only for about 5 hours. I was hoping it would knock me out for a proper 8-9 hour sleep, I think it probably didn't because I had only woken up about 5 hours before going to sleep again so my body didn't really need the full sleep. I probably should have waited until my sleep schedule rotated around to normal sleeping hours first in retrospect, but I was impatient. I think I will wait for that before I try this again. Still, it did put me to sleep at a time where I normally wouldn't be, so I'm willing to be positive and write this up as a partial success

I appreciate these updates, I also am desperately trying to find ways to contort my sleep schedule and have had no success. I also tried fractions of melatonin gummies.

Do you also have N24 or a different kind of sleeping disorder? Either way, my condolences and wishing you luck with getting that much sought after normal sleep schedule 🙏

I don't have anything diagnosed, and I don't know if I can claim a sleep disorder. But I can also claim not to remember the last time I had a night of restful sleep!

So, I wish you luck, and will also be looking at this "N24" thing...
