oh gosh that sounds super fun. i was actually sort of hoping fortnite would have been like a UT4 BR mode instead of a minecraft with guns sort of game so i think i will definitely try it out.

first person, I don't think it has building mechanics at all, but I'm seeing a focus on mobility so far. you can slide down slopes and climb walls n stuff!

i guess if i put my feet in the air then they are both apexes and leg ends.
is it first person or third person? does it have fortnite-style building mechanics?

i realized that i did my math horribly wrong. at 69 home office rigs, that leaves $82 per rig. buy one of those fancier raspberry-pi kinda deals and you have a home office rig that would work p well with lubuntu or something.

Reply to comment by devtesla in confused about kingdom hearts? by devtesla
ok definitely gonna skip it then because i've never really been a disney fan... but also because when mickey mouse shows up out of nowhere like 2.5 hours into that 3 hour movie it's the most out of left field thing ever. i thought i was watching a kinda slow paced existentialist movie with a subplot about in group conflict in the League of Extraordinary Sephiroths and then suddenly it was like i knew nothing about anything anymore.

spicy take: i don get what makes kh so confusing to people compared to other long running gams/franchises

Honestly just following critics you like on Twitter does most of the work as they tend to make sure to advertise their latest published pieces.
If you want to know what Tim Roger's taste is like, the Action Button best games list is probably pretty indicative. The problem with Tim's old stuff is that it's very loquacious--they are clearly hobby project writings--but they're still fun reads.
Though I'll be with Tim on this one - if you're a fan of KH, you don't need to read a review.

tbh I feel like there should be a big flowchart that people have to take that will lead them to the review(s) that are relevant to their personal experience, preferences history with the franchise etc etc etc, and thus most likely to tell them if they'll enjoy the game

I can't remember when was the last time I read a review and came through more confused whether I'd like to buy a game than going into it. I don't have a console so the point is moot, but the review really was a trip.

I played it when I was too young to think things are bad so I thought it was the best thing ever.

It was a big part of my childhood and I do still think it's a fun game in spite of its problems, but it's infamous for just having Way Too Many Things. At a certain point all the Kong switching just to grab those last colored bananas starts to get a little grating. It's so over the top it's practically a self-parody of Rare collectathons
Also whoever decided you had to beat the arcade Donkey Kong on one life with no continues in order to finish the game can step on a lego.

I played something akin to a 4D space shooter once and it was bad. Also, the 5D Rubik's cube remained unsolved (but it's not like I've solved the usual one either).
