Yeah there's such great goddamn environment artists now I wonder if games are pulling people away who otherwise would have gone into architecture. Some of the immersive sim games especially I think. Articles have been written just about the ceilings in Human Revolution and I've just started playing Dishonoured and god I love Dunwall. I feel like Viktor Antonov was really allowed to let loose on it in a way that the more realistic sci fi aesthetic of Half-Life 2 didn't really allow him to. You can really see a lot of the same ideas echoed but more so.

thanks i love this and im sure you could fill a book with example and the different history. i do feel like games in the past few years have gotten way better at architecture (and weird archtiecture is much more mainstream now through blog saturation etc) so i think things will only get better from here on out

Yeah Dragalia is pretty cool and the controls feel great.

I haven't played more than like three "levels" but I liked it so far.

Also sigh the weird spine thing lol.

apparently there's some other stuff about their company run subreddit which i don't really know anything about, i'm just upset at white dudes trying to get people grabbing pitchforks because of "reverse racism" because some company won't sponsor their d&d show

The DROD games are actually really good once you get past the control scheme and general weirdness of the series. I'd probably go as far as calling them my favorite puzzle games, and its kind of a shame they're not more well known.

also that "25 types of monsters" thing is a blatant lie, the first DROD only has like 10 monster types.
