it is very old. we're hosted on heroku and last i tried i had trouble upgrading.

might give upgrading another shot soon once i have some time off but i'm currently in the middle of finding an apartment and moving so uh... probably not until after that.

Yeah it's based on an older version. Forums for example can have CSS made by normal users instead of only those approved by admins. This got removed in later versions due to the maintenance tax involved. Another removed featured that jstpst still has is the ability for forum moderators to edit any submission in their forum (now only admins can do that)

It does use JavaScript (otherwise we would all be experiencing refreshes when voting and the timestamp of submissions and comments wouldn't be calculated), it's just not required or necessary for the site to function.
