i wonder if people said this in previous decades

imagine being a 1982 person saying

you know how people would say, "haha i keep thinking 10 years ago is the 50s", but in reality, the 50s were 20 years ago? in reality, the 50s were 30 years ago

(1982, or, any other year from decades where the rate of human change is great enough to yield significant noteworthy differences between decades, while there's also enough human communications infrastructure for a concept to become relevant enough long enough to be considered part of the canon of "things people said". )
