So to clear it in the first place, I have zero expertise in film studies, but I found this series by Lindsay Ellis pretty cool. It uses Michael Bay's Transformers series to whet the audience appetite for film studies 101 and I think it works pretty well at it. (It's probably unfeasible to convey a broad survey in a serious manner into the subject through a YouTube series, but I think this hits a sweet spot of sorts.)

If you just want to see an example, either Why is it So Hard to Remember What Happens in Transformers? or Queering Michael Bay were probably the best standalone installments and only take about a quarter of an hour each but truth to be told, it took me only two sittings to pore through all of it.

I have lots of expertise in film studies and Lindsay Ellis is really good. Her Hobbit trilogy is one of the best things I've seen on youtube.

TBH I never had much of a problem with the name "queer theory" but I can't say I like using "queering" as a verb
