i went to the Mall the other day to browse and maybe buy some clothes (i came home with two pairs of shoes, a shoehorn because i'm a cardigan granddad type of bitch, a pair of earrings and a doll for my niece's birthday; no clothes) and i took my big over-ear headphones. i felt kind of rude going into stores with them on because the sales assistants basically have to be like "heyyyyyy do you need anything can i help you" and i had to take my headphones off and be like "whuh" every time they did. it is a reasonable expectation to be spoken to in these stores, so like, i feel like it might be more considerate to not wear them so that i can react appropriately and politely when it happens?? what do you think, website

i wouldn't say it's rude, because what's actually rude is the system that requires employees ask somebody wearing headphones if they need help. honestly a tough call tbh but at the end of the day i think it should come down to whether or not you mind having to take you headphones off and go whuh.

i would be such a bad employee if i saw someone wearing headphones i would just leave them alone lol.

You can probably just give a thumbs up and say "I'm good thank you". that'll let them off the hook Lol. if you feel rude doing it just remember that they deal with way worse

I would not think anything of this personally. The only thing is when you go up to pay and interact with them you lower your headphones obviously. Otherwise it's cool
