short writeup for context: hangman page was a good guy. swerve strickland was a bad guy. swerve strickland did some over-the-top bad guy things, but with regard to hangman page, swerve invaded his house and threatened his baby. they fought a pretty gnarly match over it. here's a highlight set to "violence fetish" by disturbed. (cw: deathmatch)

unfortunately for hangman, swerve is a pretty cool dude, so he got organically cheered by the crowd until he pretty much turned into a good guy. this dissonance drove hangman insane. for quite a while folks kinda justified hangman doing morally ambiguous stuff with "well to be fair swerve did invade his home and threaten his baby and now he had to move his family away and everything". but finally, after months, we get to this point.

I want Swerve to win and then Hanger becomes a good guy again but I don't know how that happens.

Probably Hanger wins and then Swerve becomes a bad guy again so once again my hopes and expectations are opposite

Still, how 'bout that crowd chanting, "This is arson!"

ah you've got me fantasy booking... hmm. i think swerve winning again is valid. you give him momentum again. as for what that momentum is used for... a rematch for the world championship after bryan danielson disposes of jack perry? and then swerve loses that match to really solidify danielson's run? it's pretty easy to get the crowd behind swerve anyway, as we've established.

but this match has to be at least as brutal as the texas deathmatch, no. swerve wins but hangman actually does lasting damage on him. maybe have that damage be the reason swerve loses the rematch with danielson.

as for hangman... i like him losing, actually, with the final goal of getting him back into being a good guy. he stoops as "low" as swerve and it still doesn't work out. have him mess up a chance on the international/continental title due to him focusing on brutality instead of winning, that kinda stuff. do some soul-searching, reset...

or just stick mark briscoe on him if you're lazy. that always seems to work out

"This is arson!"

it's so dumb [affectionate]
