when i was a kid i had the ps1 memory card interface which is EXTREMELY 90s https://i.imgur.com/4Ll6lGf.jpg

i remember in final fantasy games different save slots used different icons and it was fun to just see which ones had which icon

fun fact: The Wii also doesn't have an OS. When you start a game from the system menu it passes complete control of the console to the game itself. The "overlay" that games pop up when you press the 🏠 button is programmed into each individual game.
