if you want an extra long hyphen for talking the em dash is supported by Unicode — it's really useful for long pauses because the line is long

if you want to be extra indecisive (like me) you also have the option of the two em dash ⸺ or even the three em dash ⸻ personally i think we should introduce these into regular use
