It doesn't need to be fancy. I have a bunch of GoPro videos from motorcycle rides I'd like to cut together and maybe change the sound track, nothing fancy. But I've never done any video editing before.

Not FOSS, but DaVinci runs on Linux, is free, and is the best I've used recently.

Before that, I've had good experiences with Kdenlive

kdenlive for an advanced KDE offering, Pitivi for a GNOME one, and Openshot for something less advanced. I recommend Kdenlive.
