Throughout Snowpiercer a mysterious symbol can be seen constantly throughout the train that none of the characters ever seem to acknowledge. A symbol that haunts the show at every turn. This symbol has confused and intrigued audiences for months as they try to unravel its mysteries and meanings. At first it seems very strange, just a series of four diagonal lines, but on closer inspection this symbol bears a striking resemblance to the 23rd letter of the English alphabet, "W".
[insert twenty minutes of rambling about possible meanings of the letter W in the English and other languages, I was going to type something ridiculously long here as the joke but then I realised I cannot be arsed to do that]
But there's another possibility. Throughout the show a "Mister Wilford" is constantly talked about but never seen. This mysterious figure was the original owner of Snowpiercer. Now this connection may seem tenuous at first. What connection could he (or she) have to do with with the mysterious symbol? As we've established the symbol bears a striking resemblance to the letter W. Now, the name "Mister Wilford" doesn't have any obvious connection to the letter W. But what if I told you that in the English language Mister is a title that is actually not considered to be part of someone's name. If we remove this extraneous "Mister" from "Mister Wilford" we are left with simply "Wilford". And what is the first letter in "Wilford"? W
Could this symbol represent Wilford and his connection to the train. A clever reminder to the audience about his presence, even when he's not seen on screen? I'm not saying this is the right answer but if it is correct this shows extremely clever foreshadowing by the creators of the show, giving a subtle hint that astute viewers might pick up on.
But hey, that's just a game theory.
