there's a decent sized park with a nice little hilly forest that i've been really enjoying hikes at but there's a lot of litter. i kind of want to just start picking up stuff with one of those grabby stick thingies and dump it in the park trash can after my hike.

i don't know if i should like officially volunteer or something but i don't really want to be beholden to a schedule or anything, and i don't want to be in a position where i'd be asked to narc out homeless people that frequent the park, especially since this is a republican-led city. i just want my hikes to be a littler nicer and maybe others' too.

not at all, I think that would be a great thing to do. a friend of mine would always bring a plastic shopping bag or two with her when she went hiking, and she'd fill it up with trash she saw as she hiked. when we went on group hikes, she'd bring one for everyone who came with us. it was sort of a minigame to do as we hiked.

I did that during the pandemic (the trash people on my street were very sloppy) and it was very therapeutic and nobody confronted me about it

just do it

when going on walks and hikes i bring a trash bag if i don't forget

organizing in groups helps to keep doing it and it's nice hanging out but i'd rather just be around friends :)
