browsers. it's part of the gif standard; an animated gif can be set not to repeat, to repeat forever, or to repeat a fixed number of times.

Oh, I see. That would also be browser behaviour. I saved the gif and opened it up in Firefox, and tried refreshing it there. It didn't loop upon refreshing there either.
