Being trans is already so much work. It's paperwork, it's doctor visits, it's needles, sometimes it's more needles, it's pain, sometimes it's surgery.
And that's before all the transphobia!
Casual transphobia adds difficulty to every other aspect of life, too. You gotta get a job, you gotta find a place to live, you gotta etc, etc, etc.
But casual transphobia is over. Now, we're seeing ranked competitive transphobia, with transphobes competing to be the very best. Now, a POTUS ran and won on a trans scapegoat, and are taking efforts to snuff us out of every aspect of life entirely.
Fascism does not want us to exist.
Fascists are putting resources into making us not exist.
To exist, we have to resist that.
It is simple: Existence is resistance.
Put another way, every single living trans person represents a real, tangible victory against fascism.
This isn't a trite, fun, uplifting saying. I'm being cynical, if anything, with an analogy putting trans people as points on a scoreboard in a zero-sum blood battle.
Existence is resistance. Them's the facts!
