there was some discourse in my mastodon sphere about whether or not to mark breasts as sensitive, which blurs the thumbnail of an image, and not doing so was "activism"

and i was like... "hey i have sexual trauma and need to engage with nudity on my own terms. and also like people use the internet at work" and was told i was being a chauvinist and showing my ass lmao. like that seems like such a wild take???

anyway the nice thing about mastodon is there are tools to sculpt your sphere so you don't have people attacking you for having PTSD in a way that inconveniences them but hoo boy i sure did have a rough day letting someone grind their heel into my traumies.

Ughh I hate that :( I think Mastodons attract a lot of people who get Ideologically Fixated on Social Minutia to the point where people feel in the right to gestures wildly at post.

It's normal to ask for and even expect people to tag nudity!! You did nothing wrong!!

and yeah like tumblr had this kind of problem too. and twitter. just people online who, at the risk of sounding trite, need to touch grass

It was a 100% valid request and you don't even have to have a reason for it, it's just basic etiquette?? These people sound weird
