About ~30min in, there's an in-universe presentation, and in that presentation are a series of sketched images...

... And I'm pretty sure they're using AI generated images.

Fuck! Come on. This is supposed to be a good show.

The signs I see in AI generated images are:

  • Dubious provenance. For what are purportedly a pencil-sketched-and-coloured image, they sure don't look like that. It looks like textures were added in post, at least. But everything else doesn't have that sketch pass, color pass look.

  • Formless lines that move between figures. This is one of the big ones in anything with lines. Why do the lines of the sketched building move into the lines of the background object?

  • Amorphous blobby figures, especially in vehicles and people.

  • Nonsensical geometry, like in the digger.

  • Aimless perspective. Artists often do perspective "wrong" or exaggerated, but there's usually a purpose for doing that. Here, people and streetlamps and trees are of differing sizes and shapes with no cohesion.

I don't see anyone else saying this, but it's been ~15 hours since release and "Severance AI" is hard to search for. Is anyone else seeing it? Am I going Bonkers?
