I've used 1password for over a decade to store my passwords, but it's $36 per year for like, syncing a small text database? Kind of bullshit. I've been meaning to switch to Bitwarden, which is the same damn thing but $10 per year (or free, I'm using some of the pay stuff but you really don't need it), and it's open source in a way where I could just run it myself if I was so inclined.
I've been meaning to switch for a while but never got around to it, but 1password just announced some bizarre crypto tie in so fuck it I'm Bitwarden now. The 1password thing is so nuts too, like there was already a way to store a crypto wallet in 1password if you wanted to but they decided to partner with some random crypto company about it? Doesn't seem that lucrative for something that's going to hit their reputation.
There's a couple things I don't like about Bitwarden: you can search for items just fine but there's no way to sort the list of items, like for "most recently changed items" or something. And the browser extension has a little annoying number on it if you have any logins for that website and you can't turn it off. That's it, it's good software.
Of course Bitwarden is already a little crypto (you can pay for subscriptions in bitcoin lol) and they'll probably do something like 1p did in the future but whatever it works and it's only $10.

since lastpass shit the bed i moved to bitwarden and it's good! i've never actually noticed the little number on the browser extension icon lol.
the only thing that annoys me about bitwarden is that its android firefox integration is kinda funky and for some websites you have to refresh or open and close the more options/kebab menu to get the autofill popup to appear. other than that 10/10 good software i like free things
