I'm coming out of a very draining career crisis for lack of a better word and thumbnails are one of my goals to get done while I'm taking my break. That being said this involves doing an integration with a service like s3 so if I can't figure it out either someone else will have to do it or it'll just be a longer term project.

You can clone to a second PostgreSQL database and install Postmill entirely fresh into separate places on your disk and get all the kinks and steps out without interfering with the running site...

It's seems like some changes are on Emma's to do list, however.

There actually isn't a whole lot Postmill does to prevent vote manipulation, this post on Raddle talks about this while also being vote manipulated to prove the point.
