First off: it's good and I enjoyed playing it.

The hook for this game is that it's Legend of Zelda but with a randomly generated map so your playthrough is dffierent every time. The problem with that is the randomly generated map is probably the worst thing about the game. It results in a world that's a series of rooms that are incidentally connected without much that's actually interesting to explore.

The basic gameplay is solid enough to keep it enjoyable to play through. It's 2D Zelda done pretty well and with enough twists to keep it interesting until you get towards the end of the game, where the actually really good stuff is. And some of that stuff you won't see unless you follow specific criteria you are absolutely going to miss out on the first time you play.

The last level is by far the best. Not incidentally it's the only level that's hand-made and the same every time. It has a really interesting twist in how it works that I shan't spoil.

Also it's a tad edgy :P

it does bum me out a bit when a game does procedural level generation that I think would have been better served by handcrafted levels. flinthook comes to mind
