i used to listen to chapo trap house but after they were like "ohh god who could have seen the establishment candidates lining up behind one dickhead to kneecap sanders and destroy the hopes of the left its so over" in 2020 i wasnt really interested any more. they were insightful in some ways and regressive in other ways. i think that their sense of humour has become more popular since then (i dont want to say that tiktok is Chapo Trap House 2.0 but the absurd comedy that's common on tiktok is reminiscent of them in some ways) and so theyre probably less novel than they used to be. its insane that they were considered like, the apotheosis of the left (in the favourable and unfavourable sense) because in 2023 theyre pretty inoffensive ime

They were early standouts in the field way back when. Now there's a lot of podcasts out there so it's harder to stand out.

I still like them but they were in their heyday when bernie was running and it seemed like there was a point to being interested in politics.
