i've been revisting the homestuck fan music albums recently and i forgot how fantastic this all is. this is "chicken soup for my soul specifically". it's all my favorite stuff and it's my ultimate escapism and comfort
penumbra phantasm is the lost media legend of the homestuck and homestuck-adjacent fandom systems. it's an unreleased Toby Fox original which had a teensy clip released (then later redacted) in a barely-audible amount at the tail-end of a flash, but which has touched almost every other fuckin song. this mostly-complete version was discovered by unethical means after homestuck finished: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdntMzdkFnk
penumbra phantasm is the opposite of megalovania, in equal magnitude. it carries toby fox's personal style to a maximal extent. unlike megalovania, it's referenced in a zillion songs.
also abso-fuckin-lutely excellent-beyond-excellent is ostrichlittledungeon's "revisit-rewind" from the same fan album, but it's got a lot of deep-deep shitpost-jokes that won't make sense unless you were ludicriously online in the nichest of scenes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Tm2S88RlCg
this post is too long, here's one last song, more familiar to those of you who stopped reading homestuck when it ended: https://youtu.be/r78qOIX8ITI

i never really got into homestuck music like other people did but it feels like all my favourite songs are all the relaxed and pretty songs like unlabelled and moonsetter and darling kanaya which are like totally on the other end of the spectrum to all the epic cinematic guitar rock stuff. like i admit that megalovania and the way that its been used through homestuck (and undertale) is cool but it's just too much energy for me lol
