How do you decide what to watch if you don't know anything about it?

I think the video is a joke; is starts with reasonable advice and devolves into silliness, side tangents and such. (Tim Rogers has done list videos toying like this before.) I think Tim sincerely avoids spoilers though and has his system for recommendations.
