i started a new job two weeks ago and the name i go by isnt my legal name, so there is always that fun hoop to go through
the job is pretty good about it, they have a section to set it up so all the systems call you by your actual name and the training people instantly used my real name
but then some of the people are like "what's your real name?" and treating it like some novelty and I'm pretty terse and I tell them that kendall is my real name, but people don't seem to understand it's a sore spot for me?? and it's so hypocritical because there's a lady whose given name is sharon who they have no problem calling shaz and they've never been all intrusive about that or asking why she doesn't use her "real name" and it fuckin sucks :c
