john wick is about a murderous monster man, bottled up by his loving late wife, sealed by a beagle-shaped cork
he would be committing so many murders with supernatural unstoppable certainty no matter what. it's just that the thieves were in front of the bottle when they popped that cork and let out the baba yaga.
it's like a film about a big tornado, told from the perspective of the tornado. like a tornado, john wick doesn't seem to think much at all. most of his lines are "yeah". tornadoes don't seek revenge, water flowing down a stream doesn't seek revenge. it just kind of does.
in the later film, the tornado fights other tornadoes, and it turns out tornadoes have a cool underground society with pretty coins
