I get it, pets are scared of them and so are some people. And they're bad for the environment and can cause wild fires, not to mention blowing up in peoples hands.
But also people like explosions and they're not gonna stop doing fireworks, and I think the annual inveighing against fireworks just comes off more as "we hate fun" than anything.
Of course I agree fuck the fourth of july, fuck america, fuck polluting and stop scaring dogs. But also it's cool to blow things up, people like doing that and I think it's fun to have a day where people play with explosions.
