raw as in not toasted, but it's still toast because i guess that's how americans call that kind of sliced bread :P

I’m curious which corner of america. I’ve lived my whole life here, and the only time I’ve heard untoasted bread referred to as toast was when you planned on toasting it before eating.

Well there's this sliced bread in Texas called Texas toast which is packaged and not yet toasted, and can be eaten untoasted https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Texas_toast.jpg
