I swear this "point of collection" is making me have a skill issue in Windows games
If you don't know what a PoC is it's the invisible line near the top of the screen that appeared first in Touhou 6 where if you go over it you become a magnet to all items on screen (like the blue point items and red power items) and collect them all at the maximum point value (since an item's value steadily decreases the more lower on screen you collect them). TH06 and 07 required you to be in full power mode to activate the PoC, while TH08 has Magician Team where PoC is always active (the rest of the teams still requires full power mode). It's only in TH10 that PoC has become always active regardless of character or power which has become a staple of the series.
Because of this mechanic, score in Windows games has essentially become "inflated". A 30,000,000+ score in PC-98 which could've taken until the very last stage to get would take only up to stage 3 or 4 in Touhou 16 for example. Factor in the fact that getting as many milestones in scoring (like when you get 5 million in TH05 you get a life extend) as you can gives you more resources in the long run, it kinda feels like you should always get up to the PoC line as much as you can..
I hate this gameplay mechanic lol. Can we just go back to PC-98 where things are simpler? :P

Fun fact I still haven't done a Normal 1cc of a Windows 2hu except Touhou 19, but that one doesn't count because of the brokenly easy characters (like Reimu) coupled with the simpler requirement (compared to Touhou 3 or 9) to win a match there and a new mechanic where getting hit doesn't lead to losing health (unlike, again, TH03 or 09) but instead your "shield" disappearing (and if you get hit while in that vulnerable state then yeah you lose health) which you can regain by doing a level 3 or 4 attack
Meanwhile I've Normal 1cc'd Touhou 2 to 5. Touhou 1 is a different beast tho (it's not a vertically scrolling bullet hell at all but rather a weird hybrid of Arkanoid and bullet hell without the infamously tiny Reimu hitbox)
