Incel song, but I think the intentionality here is to put Jesus as the subject of some sort of "Nice Guy" song. There are other songs in this album that are pretty explicitly about Jesus, Heretic Pride comes to mind. On the other hand, many of the songs on this album are about outcasts in society who we're supposed to feel bad for, like in Lovecraft in Brooklyn and How to Embrace a Swamp Creature. Also, we know JD doesn't have anything close to a spotless record with this kind of nice guy misogyny, as we see in Going to Georgia and Bad Priestess among others.
This is all just to say this song could be an incel song or a witty commentary on how Catholicism necessitates a feeling of isolation from others to be close to God, but I'm not holding my breath.
