This is a good overview of what makes something work as a AAA game but god... because of this review I'm finally playing my psplus copy of TLoU and I fucking hate it so far lmao

Just finally got around watching this video. I find it far superior to the FF7R review, better strictured and I could actually follow the lines of argumentation. The problem now is that Kotaku stuff now appears kind of crass from a technical perspective, you csn clearly hear how much better the sound is, for example.

It was always going to be better, Tim made the last video while recovering from covid and missing some equipment. And yea at kotaku he was working out of a closet, he's got way more resources from his patreon including a full time video editor.

I enjoyed the ff7r video more but that's because it's a way more interesting subject to me, I beat tlou and it seems kinda broken to me. Like its design philosophy is really good but there's nothing hanging off of it.
