i so thoroughly loathe yoko taro's fans and i don't like what he makes much better i am not looking forward to him writing in something ilike and drawing his fans to it

god i just don't want to be told 50 times that i "just don't get it" because i personally think the ass out designs are a bit silly and the themes explored aren't done the best

regardless i feel somewhat bad because i feel like i might even like nier and stuff if it wasn't for how, crazy the fanbase is in treating it as if it's perfect and super duper deep! but i suppose thats the issue with fanbases sometimes

I powered through Neir and just dealt with the mad amounts of anime only to find out that I needed to beat it all the way through a second time and then the plot would open up and I was like, "eeeeeeeh"

So yeah I can understand this.

the concept of "you have to reply the story a second time to understand it fully" is a fun and/or compelling concept when done well.

Nier does not do it well.
