The Other Side of the Spider-Man Proposal Story

TL;DR: All the major articles on this story took the word of the guy who proposed at face value, without even asking what the ex-girlfriend thought of it. The guy tried to push the story that his ex-gf broke up with him so that she could date his half-brother, but in reality she broke up with him because he was a shit bf and she basically had to take care of him as if she was his mom, and just happened to become friends with his half-brother after she had already broken up with him. The proposal in Spider-Man was basically just an attempt at an easy relationship-saver, rather than actually listening to her and trying to help make things better. She didn't even like video games all that much, she only really sat through them because she loved him, it wasn't at all a way she wanted to be proposed to.
