nvidia announced new cards today and there is much loling to be had:
the cheapest card they announced is the 2070 which is $500, a $130 jump from the 1070.
the 2080 is $100 more than last time, $700
they're launching a 2080 Ti for $1,000
they're still doing the founders edition scam where they sell a worse version of a card for $100 more. they're selling a founders edition 2080 Ti for $1,200.
they feel confidant charging these prices because it can do ray-tracing, which gives better lighting and reflections but like, for all the examples they showed I either couldn't really tell the difference (lol and lol) or they overdo the effect (lol). it's gonna be really cool in a few years but ugg don't buy these cards lol
