So someone on Reddit apparently discovered how to insert faces of other people on porn actors bodies using software. The results weren't that convincing imo though certainly something new and novel, but it was something that people got riled up about, for and against and I'd definitely say what was produced was in poor taste for the most part except for the one with Nicholas Cage as Indiana Jones.

I didn't keep up with how the story evolved, but yesterday Reddit made some changes into their rules about sexual content involving minors and involuntary pornography and stamped out that shit and banned /r/deepfakes, the central plaza of that shit.

It's weird out there folks.

Also honestly surprised to see reddit stamping down on that kind of thing without years of complaints to spur them to finally do something

I think the "Fappening" changed something internally. It was something that could backfire as celebrities were getting porn makeovers.

I've kind of always lowkey dreaded the day when video evidence of a thing is easy to fake convincingly and well. We're getting close!

I think that the credulity of people is the real problem. But if there was fake porn of practically everyone people would probably just brush it off as nothing shameful and some amount of people would be living out masturbatory fantasies about their crushes and shit. It's direction where photography and film have been moving towards the whole of their existence, I'm sure the society can cope fine with it.
